How du you tell a cream based moisturiser apart from a gel or water based one?

What ingredients should I look for and what ingredients should I avoid in a good moisturiser? How du you tell a cream based moisturiser apart from a gel or water based one?
i think by cream you mean an oil based moisturizer... which you probably want to avoid, because it will clog your pores. look for a moisturizer that says oil free on the front. Dove makes a good moisturizer that is oil free with spf 15 in itHow du you tell a cream based moisturiser apart from a gel or water based one?
read the ingredients or look it up online

Is eye cream/moisturiser very important for healthy skin?

is eye moisturiser or eye cream is very necessary for glowing and healthy skin. I am 27.Is eye cream/moisturiser very important for healthy skin?
If you're worried about the future, and want to prevent the onset of eye wrinkles then it can't hurt. But face mosturizer, as well as sunscreen I'd say is key for a glowing complexion. The weather can be very drying no matter if it's summer or winter ;)Is eye cream/moisturiser very important for healthy skin?
yes it is! I'm 22 and every night I always apply good night cream and I use vitamin E oil under my eyes. I don't want to have too many wrinkles or crows feet, plus I want to look like a M.I.L.F!
Absolutely! You should always moisturize your skin, the eye area is important as well. Always use something with SPF, this definitely helps your skin as well.

I moisturize my face twice a day. And don't worry about buying all the insanely expensive stuff, it all has about the same in it. My grandmother used regular cold cream her entire life, and she has great skin even at 82.
At the latest, you should have started when you were about 24 with the eye cream for preventative measures.
I would definitely start using eye cream ASAP! The skin around your eyes is extremely thin and delicate. Fine lines can start early on (I'm 24 and have noticed lines for a few years now). I'll be honest I do not consistently use eye cream, but when I do it makes the area look a lot better. I recommend Dior Cosmetics Capture R60/80 Eye Cream. It has fabulous results, instantly smoothing and illuminating the eye area. Also, in 1 hour it will reduce wrinkles up to 60% (the 60) and after long-term use it repairs and strengthens the skin. 80% (the 80) of women noticed a younger looking appearance after 1 month of use.

I used to sell Dior for about 4 months and their products are really great. The eye cream is around $52.00 for a .5oz supply. I know this seems a lot for such a small amount but you only need to apply about a pea size amount for your eyelid AND undereye area, so it lasts a long time.

  • Is SPF moisturiser as effective as applying a moisturiser and sun cream separately?

I normally use a moisturiser with a built-in SPF of between 15 and 25. However, would I be better applying a normal moisturiser and then a layer of sun cream? Is SPF moisturiser as effective as applying a moisturiser and sun cream separately?
Regardless whether your moisturiser has a built in SPF in it, If your not re-applying your SPF moisturiser on at least 2 hourly basis then your SPF word means nothing. Just because you've put an SPF on your face doesn't mean your protected all day, unless your reapplying it. My advice to you would be to invest in a tinted moisturiser that has a Spf factor. At least you can re-apply more than once. Not only will it be protecting your skin but also freshen you up during the day and keep you well hydrated. The right tinted moisturiser wont give you that YUK feeling that make-up gives you at the end of the day. All I do is put some blush, mascara and Lippy. Barabing Barabong! DONE-I'm out the door!Dermalogica Sheer Tint SPF 15 is awsome and Ultraceuticals Tinted Protective Self Adjusting Tinted Moisturiser SPF 30 is also awsome! You cant go wrong with professional skin care.Is SPF moisturiser as effective as applying a moisturiser and sun cream separately?
Not really. You should use some moisturiser before as some sunscreens leave your skin dry. It depends on the one you use, it sould say at the back of the sunscreen.
Not on your face. Stick to the creams with the spf in them as they are made to ';adjust'; to your face - that has pores, and more oil glands. (You could break out with general sun screen)
it probably is but it would be better if you applied additional sun scream separately.
An spf moisturiser is good for everyday use to block out harmful rays from the sun, but I would recommend that when on holiday use a seperate spf lotion. Just because if you will be in strong sunlight you need to keep applying the spf every 4 or so hours. A moisturiser with an spf is good for normal day-to-day wear. If you applied a normal moisturiser then out the spf ontop everyday you would end up clogging you skin because there would be no much going onto the skin.
I doesn't matter whether you apply a SPF moisturizer or two seperate products. But i think one-in-all is easiser.

The important thing is to protect your skin from the sun.

There are two types of sunscreens: physical and chemical. Physical suncreens reflects the sunrays as a mirror. Also they're not absorbed by skin, means you don't need to reapply and it won't irritate. These are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Chemical suncreens (ethylhexylmethoxycinnamate, benzophenone and the others) are needed to be reapplied after a few hours and since they go to the deeper layers of the skin, they have a potential for irritation.
I prefer apply a normal moisturiser and then a sun screen cream; because I have heard moisturiser with SPF is quite not good for a sensitive screen.

What is the best moisturiser/cream for dry skin? & whats the best foundation to use for dry skin?

iv'e tried almost everything for dry skin on my face. the best is 8 hour cream by elizabeth arden, but its not a moisturiser. And when i put concealer and foundation on my face i have dry orange patches and its annoyin, that dream matte moose is alright, but not the best. ive also used the moisturiser and foundation in one, but its rubbish. any suggestions for beautiful smooth skin? lolWhat is the best moisturiser/cream for dry skin? %26amp; whats the best foundation to use for dry skin?
The best moisturizer and foundation for dry skin can be found at the same place. It is the Hydrating Creme Extreme and the liquid mineral foundation by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. Neither of these contain oils. The moisturizer is a ';true'; moisturizer and contains natural E vitamins and is made especially for your face. The foundation does not contain oils and is all natural and you get complete coverage that is consistent. I get it on-line. It is much cheaper that way. What is the best moisturiser/cream for dry skin? %26amp; whats the best foundation to use for dry skin?
I am a man so I do not use makeup, but I have the problem with the dry skin and the only thing that would get rid of the red blotches (not sunburn) after I had been sailing, etc. was strong Vitamin E cream.
I like olay lotions and moisturizers

also get vitamin E tablets and break one open and it should be a gooey gel and rub it on

(My doc told me to do the vit. E thing)

I had this part of my face that was peeling from dryness and that lotion in the hyperlink above took care of it and made it back to normal

    the best foundations are

    maybelline dream matte mousse

    maybelline smooth and silky

covergirl trublend (I'd reccomend this one most)

mousse foundations come on with a fluffly lightweight texture and when you touch your face it feels really soft, you can barely feel you have it on, and it doesn't clog pores.

Maybelline smooth and silky is neat b/c there is a white that makes it silky that you blend with the foundation and it makes your face really soft and doesn't clog pores.

also buy some powder, I use cover girl powder, but any kind works, It makes makeup look less makeupy, and gives your skin a good tone.
I would have to agree with Blondie. She is right on the money and I love money. Ha! Ha! You should really give Bee-Luscious Cosmetics a try it is a great product. I think you will be very satisfied with it.
If your skin is a dry, and you are bothered by it, I suggest you try using Zenmed Sensitive Skin Care System from Zenmed or Autopalm from Skinstore.com

Zenmed has no side effects and it's non-irritant to the

skin. It's proven to works fast and it povides Maximum

results! It's certainly a good lotion to prevent further

    outbreaks.

Another product that I think is effective is Autopalm. This

dry skin mlm is one of the best seller at skinstore.com now.

(Skinstore.com holds more than 10,000 skin care products) It's pretty effective, and worth the dollar paid out.

your dry, flaky skin wil be gone and i mean GONE in about 2 days
The best moisturizer cream is the moisturizer I am using right now -- a product I am using called Dermagenics. It's a complete skin care system in one -- so you don't have to buy other products. It is good for all skin types -- normal, oily, dry or sensitive. It's gentle enough for the skin around the eyes but strong enough for the face an neck. It has oligopeptide, an ingredient known as an alterative to Botox. It has no harmful ingredients -- its doesn't have glycolic acid or alpha hydroxys found in other creams. These ingredients actually attract sun damage and can later on cause wrinkles. I really urge you to try it. You'll be glad you did. Get more info at http://www.dermagenics.biz

I scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees with bleach water, my hands are so sore...?

Wear gloves next time, to protect you from the bleach.I scrubbed the kitchen floor on my hands and knees with bleach water, my hands are so sore...?
wash them extremely well and in medium water. Soak them in warm water. Then put as much lotion as you can on them. It might help putting sun burn cream on them, see how that works. Do they burn or just hurt? are they red? See a docter if so . . .

    hope this helps!
rub a little neosporin in with some curel advanced moisture lotion.
Just sleep on it, they'll stop hurting when your body gets rid of the lactic acid in your finger muscles, flex your fingers to speed it up.
Make sure to wash them well, then just use some lotion or something.

Why should surgeons hold their hands higher than their elbows during scrubbing?

to make sure they disinfect their hands and arms prior to cutting on u and causing u infection. WHen they hold them higher, the soap and germs run down there arms, releasing the germs into the sinkWhy should surgeons hold their hands higher than their elbows during scrubbing?
scrubbing is of utmost importance to a surgeon, as it renders their hands free of any microorganisms before cutting open somebody.after scrubbing, they hold their hands up high above the elbows so that the ';dirty'; water from their hands drip down towards the elbow, not vice versa.if they hold their hands lower than the elbows, ';dirty'; water will drip down to their hands, thereby ';contaminating'; their hands again.the same holds true for nurses who will be with the surgeon during the operation. Why should surgeons hold their hands higher than their elbows during scrubbing?
Interesting question...can't wait to see if there is some cooler answer.

First, makes sure that liquids don't stay 'on the hands', after the fingers are scrubed anything that gets on the arm beyond where you scrub to could run down to the hand unless you've got gravity on your side. So it prevents the hands from getting de-sanitized.

Second, it helps you keep an eye on them. Hands up, almost cradled to the chest is a good way to prevent them from coming into contact with anything accidentally. So as you proceed from scrub to surgery you don't touch anything that isn't sanitized.
Simple, you don't want water dripping from the elbows (still not disinfected) onto your disinfected hands.
It's one of the general principles of asepsis: after the surgeon washes his/her hands, the hands are clean but not the wrists and the forearms. Therefore to maintain asepsis the hands must be held up to prevent contamination.
The reason is after they wash their hands the water will drip from it. Since they are now scrubbed, the hands up to the elbow is now considered surgically clean. The water from the elbow should not drip towards the hands and if this happens you just have breached the scrubbing principle and now u are considered unsterile. The surgeon has to hold his hands up high so the the water from the hands will drip down and not the other way around.
