To ensure that you don't get an infection from them. They might have seen a number of ill patients though out the day and you don't want anything that they might of had. Also it protects the doctor from contracting a virus or disease from you. For example, HIV, flu, or cold, etc.Why do doctors scrub their hands and then put on gloves?
Um because hand washing is the # 1 way to prevent the spread of germs. Then they apply gloves to place another barrier between you and them. Let's face it...humans are filthy!
