What is the difference between a cream and a lotion moisturiser?

Texture: creams are thicker while lotions are runnier

Benefit: this depends on type of skin. There seems to be a misconception that if it's thicker it it more moisturizing. Not so. Since a lotion is more viscous it penetrates better and deeper into your skin.

I think you have the two types because some prefer if it feels richer while other people like it if it spreads easier and isn't too thick. What is the difference between a cream and a lotion moisturiser?

creams are usually a litle thicker
A cream is a little thicker and heavier than a lotion.
a cream is much heavier than a lotion and should be used only at night time. if used before make up application, my make up may appear uneven.
Creams are generally thicker so they give more moisture to your skin than a lotion.
