In your opinion does using a mop or washing floors by hand get the best results when scrubbing floors?

After my last pregnancy I started using a mop but the floors don't seem as clean. Has anyone else noticed this and what do you use?In your opinion does using a mop or washing floors by hand get the best results when scrubbing floors?
I only have 3 small rooms that need mopping but, I still use a mop to clean them... I don't have the time/energy to be crawling around the floor scrubbing!

I have acouple LIBMAN WONDER mops that are awesome... The removable head is machine washable and replaceable so I have a fresh clean mop to use everytime... ! I also sweep/vacuum my floors really well before mopping and I use HOT soapy water and I rinse with HOT water and vinegar! I mop my floors once a week....In your opinion does using a mop or washing floors by hand get the best results when scrubbing floors?
Washing floors by hand will always get the best results. You're closer to the floor, so you can see and feel the little things that are left sticking, and you can do the floor in more detail. But it is so labor intensive. Usually I scrub the floor by hand every 2 or 3 months, then mop it in between. I use a Swiffer Wet Jet when it's not too dirty or I use a Libman wonder mop with Pinesol when it's dirty. I know it's time to scrub the floor when 2 days after I mop, you can't tell I just cleaned the floor. Good luck!
The need to get on your hands and knees to scrub the floor is directly proportional to the amount and the stubbornness of the dirt that is stuck to it.

You can always scrub with good old elbow grease, but that is not always necessary. Form experience, that is something that only needs to be done a couple or so times a year. As long as you keep the floors clean, you wont need to over do it.

Pine Sol does it for me. Used it for years in the army, and besides cleaning, it smelled good too!
I only clean my bathroom floor by hand, it gets it the cleanest. Right after my son was born I bought a Hoover floor mate and it's the best thing I ever cleaned with (other than my Dyson and my hands). Everything is so much cleaner than mopping and it's faster than hand washing (although it takes a little more time than a mop). Before I bought the Hoover, I did like the Libman Wonder Mop though.
If you don't have any physical impediments, then cleaning the floor on your hands and knees is always better. You can get into all the nooks and corners that mops won't reach, plus you can see what you're doing a lot better. It's a lot more work, but the result is overwhelmingly better.
Mopping is easier, and as a professional cleaner I would recommend a Microfiber mop. These work great on all floors and when your done just throw it is the washer. I use the Libman Microfiber Mop - you can find it in amost Krogers.
Of course if you are using a mop it will be harder to get the same results as you would get if you were on your hands and knees scrubbing the floor. But you might want to try getting a different mop. That could be a lot of the problem.
I'm sure washing the floors by hand is the best....but with my back you won't catch me doing that. I just use a regular mop with some Mr. Clean cleaner and HOT water. Seems to do the job until the kids come home. :)
you will never get the same results from a mop as you do by hand. but i found the sponge mops are the worst . i have a cloth mop and it does well
I do it Cinderella style. I've tried mopping but it seems to me also that they just aren't quite as clean. I usually just use hot water w/a little bit of vinegar %26amp; baking soda.
I mop daily...after dinner is through. Once a month when I do my carpets I run the steam cleaner over my uncarpeted areas . This does an even better job than hand scrubbing.
